John H. Wilcox, prominent Canton Road farmer, died suddenly about 6:30 Priday night while doing his farm chores. Death was due to a heart attack.
Mr. Wilcox was a lifelong resident of this section and had been an active farmer throughout his lifetime. He was a member of the First Baptist Church of this city. Born -in Lisbon May 26, 1872, Mr. Wilcox was the son of-the late William L. and Ellen Castle Wilcox.
Surviving besides his wife, the former Bertha Cline, are two daughters, Mrs. Orville Dawson of the Canton Road and Mrs. Henry Griffith of this city; two sisters, Mrs. W. B. Raymond of Massena and Mrs. A. H. Northrup of Port Dodge, Iowa; five grandchildren, Lloyd McAdam, Mrs. Lester Marks and John, Elmer and George Griffith, all of Ogdensburg. A nephew, Ralph Wilcox, of Ogdensburg, also survives.
Funeral services will be held from his home, Monday at 2 p.m., the Rev. A. E. Kelly of the First Baptist Church, officiating. Burial will be in Ogdensburg Cemetery
