Mrs E C Ripley Dies After Long Illness
After a long illness Mrs Ella Ward Ripley died at her home on Beaman street Saturday night. She was the daughter of the late Willard D and Sarah J Hurlburt Ward and was bom at Castleton in this state on May 11 1861. After nineteen years of residence in her native town she came to Poultney and May 5 1887 became the wife of Edward C Ripley who survives, together with one daughter Miss Esther M Ripley and a son Edward C Jr also three sisters Misses Jessie May and Edith Ward of this place and a brother William Ward of Rutland. She had been in poor health for three years.

Deceased was a member of St John's Parish and was a devout and faithful attendent just as long as health permitted. She was also a member of Evergreen Chapter No- 63 O E S.

The funeral was held from the home on Tuesday afternoon Rev Morgan Ashley of Trinity church Rutland officiating. Interment was in Poultney cemetery the bearers being R G M Johnson, W L Atkins, F W Barrett, W B Strong, G H Norton and Frank A Kelley.
