Community Shocked by Sad Death of Well Known Cheyenne Matron.


Word was received in the city at noon to-day of the death at Council Bluffs, Ia., of Mrs. Perry Williams of this city. Death was due to pneumonia. The remains will be brought to Cheyenne to-morrow morning for interment, accompanied by Mr. Williams. Mrs. Williams has been visiting in Council Bluffs with her three children for the past two months. The oldest daughter, Florence, is ill with pneumonia.

Mrs. Williams was formerly Miss Edith Jenks. She was born in Ogden thirty years ago but was reared and educated in Cheyenne. Her father, G. D. Jenks, died her in 1895 and after that she and her sister, Miss Alberta Jenks, resided with their aunt, Mrs. Luke Voorhees. She possessed many sweet, womanly qualities which endeared her to all whom she met and her death has cast a shadow over a large circle of friends in Cheyenne. Her husband, Perry Williams, has been engaged in the ranch business near Cheyenne. They were married eight years ago.
