Christiansburg, Va, May 6. - Mr J H Bane, Sr, who has been in feeble health for some time, died very quietly and peacefully here at ten minutes to twelve o'clock Monday night. He was born at White Gate, Giles county, Va, April 27th, 1883 [sic.] He married Miss Elizabeth Lloyd, of Pulaski county, and was a prominent farmer of that county for many years, owning the site upon which Bel Spring now stands. He was a consistent member of the Baptist church for over fifty years. He leaves a wife, Mrs Elizabeth Lloyd Bane, and five children, Mrs G Dunlap, of this place; Mrs Ella Ould, of Radford; Miss Lillian Bane and Messrs W E and J H Bane, Jr, of this place, to mourn his loss. The funeral services were conducted from the Presbyterian church today at 2 o'clock, Rev Mr McKaughan, of the Baptist church, conducting the services, assisted by Rev Mr Burnett of the Baptist church of Cambria, and Rev Mr Lane, of the Presbyterian church here. the interment was made in the cemetery here.
