"Charles E. Palmer Dies Suddenly at 83 Years of Age":
Funeral Services Will Be Held Tuesday Afternoon at M.E. Church.
Funeral services for Charles E. PALMER, 83, who died at his home Friday evening will be held Tuesday afternoon at 2 o'clock at the residence and 2:30 o'clock at the Methodist church. The Rev. Olin D. Jackson, Methodist pastor, will officiate. Burial will be at Greenwood Cemetery. The body will lie in state at the church from 11 a.m. until the time of the funeral services.
Mr. Palmer, who died suddenly from heart trouble, had been feeling well up to the last few minutes of his life having taken a walk in his garden the evening of his death.
He was born in Rutland (Dane) Wis., on February 22, 1853, and has been residing in Brookings since 1900. During his first years of his residence here he was engaged in the confectionary business. For the past several years he has lived in retirement at his home at 210 Fifth Street.
Survivors of Mr. Palmer are his wife Cora and one married daughter, Mrs. Harriette MALTBY. A complete obituary will be published in the next issue of The Brookings Register. [not found]
