Services have been set for Donald L. Reinhardt, 79, of Monroe, who died at 5:13 a.m. Wednesday at St. Vincent Mercy Medical Center, Toledo. He had been seriously ill for six months.

Friends may call from 6 to 9 tonight and from 1 to 9 p.m. Friday at Rupp Funeral Home, where the Rosary will be recited at 7 tonight. He will lie in state from 10 until services at 11 a.m. Saturday at St. Anne Catholic Church. The Rev. Robert Mossett, pastor of the church, will officiate. Burial will be in Roselawn Memorial Park, LaSalle, under the auspices of Monroe Post 1138, Veterans of Foreign Wars.

Born April 6, 1926, in LaSalle, he was the son of Fred and Frieda (Fischer) Reinhardt. He married Evelyn M. Seger Sept. 9, 1950, at St. Joseph Catholic Church, Erie.

A machine repairman, he worked at Ford Motor Co.'s Woodhaven Stamping plant for about 25 years before taking a medical retirement.

Mr. Reinhardt served in the Navy during World War II, from Nov. 4, 1944, until July 17, 1946. He attained the rank of seaman first class and earned the American Theater Medal, Philippine Liberation Ribbon and the Asiatic-Pacific Theater Medal.

He was a member of St. Anne Catholic Church and a life member of Monroe Post 1138, VFW, and Breast Bay Sportsman's Club, Newport. He was a past volunteer for the LaSalle Township Fire Department and enjoyed hunting, fishing and gardening.

Surviving are his wife; two sons, James (Judy) and Thomas (Julia), both of Monroe; two daughters, Marilyn (Gary) Prather of Newport and Roseann Reinhardt of Monroe; 10 grandchildren, and 17 great-grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by two brothers, Wilbur and Arnold.

Memorials may be made to the Palliative Care Fund at St. Vincent Mercy Medical Center, Toledo, or to the charity of the donor's choice.
