Joyce Mae "Skip" Ruether. Born January 26th, 1927 in LaCrosse, Wisconsin and passed away October 19th 2008 in Graham, Washington.
Born to: Dorothy Agnes Johnson & Carl Adolf "Harold". She was an only child to this marriage.

Mom worked in the Bremerton Shipyards during World War II and met and married Thomas Wickcliff Hill, in Mason County Washington, March 31,1945. The marriage license was obtained in Kitsap County, Washington and the marriage was performed in Mason County, Washington. Thomas was a PFC in the Marines. No children to this marriage.

Her next marriage was to Claude Eugene Baxter in Pierce County, Washington, 1948. Karen Renee' Baxter was born to this marriage in Seattle Washington, 1954.

Karen Renee' and Tim B Hill had two children, Tim Arthur "Timbo" Hill and Harry Eugene Hill. These boys have between them have 14 children and 6 Great Grandchildren for Mom to enjoy.
Karen Renee' and Richard Earl Gorman had 1 child, Kevin Craig Gorman and he has 1 child, Summer Gorman.

Third time is a charm and she met and married, Arthur Charles Anton "Art" Ruether, in King County Washington, 1960. Art was the love of Momma's life, her best friend. They were married for 49 years.
To this marriage were two children. Kenneth Craig Ruether, 1961 and David Wayne Ruether, 1962.
Kenneth and Denise Ruether have two children, Lisa & Benjamin.
David Ruether had no children and never married as of 2014.

Joyce worked at Boeing in Washington for 25 years and retired. Spending time with Art and playing cards, Vacationing in Reno. In the younger years there were many trips camping and enjoying the lakes and oceans and much fishing with the family.

Mom did a lot of couponing and saving hundreds of dollars for the family budget and loading her children up with gifts from sponsors and free coupons for- you name it! Then Kevin Gorman her Grandson, hooked her into collecting baseball cards. The three of us would spend many hours hunting cards for our collections and always swapping cards and cataloging the cards. Mom spent many hours with this hobby while watching her favorite soap operas, and did not care to be disturbed during this time! Lol!

Mom & Art threw many parties, they loved to dance and invite folks over. Mom also collected Jim Beam Bottles and had a huge Avon collection.

She could play many instruments, harpsichord, banjo, guitar, accordion and loved playing the organ. Music lifted everyone's spirits and put smiles on many faces.
She loved animals and had many dogs, a skunk (Praise the Lord, it was before I was born) and then she found it a new home after I was born! Then there was my cat, Mr. Pepper and he gave Momma a run for her money!

So many memories, and Momma will be missed by many, as she touched their hearts and crossed paths with many folks. She lived her life to the fullest and enjoyed it. She was a believer in Jesus Christ and is now in HIS arms.

Team project by: Melissa Lively Sherry, Bill & Elaine Schrock. Many thanks for all your hard work and dedication to/for many families.
