Margaret Jane Ebert, 76 of Nevada died on Friday, April 25 at Mary Greeley Medical Center in Ames. Memorial services will be held 11:00 A.M. on Thursday, May 1, 2008 at Memorial Lutheran Church, 701 11th Street in Nevada with Pastor Myron D. Herzberg officating. Private burial of the cremains will be held in the Nevada Municipal Cemetery. Margaret was born September 26, 1931 in Bedford, Iowa to Leonard I. and Floy (Wisdom) Maxwell. She attended elementary and high school there graduating in May of 1949. She attended Simpson College in Indianola from 1949-1951 and received her B.S. degree from Drake University in 1972. On May 31, 1953, she married Wesley H. Ebert in Bedford, Iowa. Margaret was a teacher in the Ogden, Huxley and Colo-Nesco schools. She was a member of the Memorial Lutheran Church, Nevada Women's Club, LCW - Martha and Rebecca circles, AFS, Child Study Club, Story County Hospital Auxilary, ISEA - NEA, girl scout leader and DAR. Margaret enjoyed reading, knitting, was an avid sports fan, and loved being with children. Margaret is survived by her husband Wesley Ebert of Nevada; a daughter, Mary (Chester) Arthur of Ringwood, OK; a son, William (Kathy) Ebert.
