Maurice was well known for his musical and literary interests. For many years, he was the chief operator at the main office of Associated Press in New York City. Later he was an agent for the American Telegraph and Telephone Company in New York City and Chicago, Illinois. Maurice moved to Endicott about 1930. He was an Episcopalian and a member of the Masons and Elks. Maurice married first to Ethel Perkins on 1 December 1897 at Syracuse. They had one daughter, Asenath Marie Kenyon, before the marriage ended in divorce at Cook County, Illinois. Maurice next married to Mabel Watrous on 26 June 1931 at Binghamton, New York. He was remembered for his gracious personality. He was survived by his wife, three brothers, and one sister.
