Contributor note: this entry was made in January 2009 by this original contributor as part of searching out Fulton (and spouses of) surnames in this cemetery as a result of a photo request by a Fulton family member. Subsequently, Lyle Fulton created, unintentionally, a duplicate memorial with links for Fannie Fay Grice Fulton. We are aware of this duplication, but pending a merge these separate entries are being kept in place because they present family information of different research interests. The original entry for Chester A Fulton by this contributor has been deleted in deference to Lyle's entry.

----------
Mrs. Chester Ainsworth Fulton.

Note: The burial location at Evergreen Cemetery was visited by this contributor on January 3, 2009. It was evident that Fannie Grice and her husband Chester A Fulton were buried in the Grice/Case family plot.

Found within this plot was a large, double-sided monument. On one side is "Grice". On the other side is "Case".

The three other headstone-marked burials on this plot were that of Catherine H Grice (maiden name Case), Julia Violetta Case (Grice), and Etta M Grice. There may be other burials that were missed during this inspection or are in unmarked graves.

Separate entries are made for these three individuals under Evergreen Cemetery in case they are of interest to those interested in the Fulton/Case/Grice lineage.Fannie Fay (Grice) Fulton was born in Mansfield, Ohio on September 12, 1882, one of four chilren born to Salathiel W. and Catherine H. (Case) Grice.

Fannie was married to Chester A. Fulton on July 5, 1908, in the Luthern Parsonage, Fairfield, Iowa. The Rev. Luther Bright officiated and the bride's sister, Clara Grice, witnessed the wedding.

Fannie and Chester were in the resturant business for several years in the area of Fairfield known as "New Chicago". During these years, three children were born to the couple; Lyle B. in 1909, James I. in 1912 and Claretta G. in 1914.

Fannie and Chester lived in Fairfield throughout their married life until Fannie became seriously ill with cancer. In early 1944, she reached a point where her illness required more assistance than she was able to have at home, so she went to stay with her daughter Claretta who had married and now lived with her husband Donald Howland on a farm near Formoso, Kansas.

Fannie lived her final days in Kansas with Donald and Claretta. She lost her battle with cancer on July 30, 1944. Her remains were returned to Fairfield, Iowa, for her funeral and for burial in the Case-Grice family plot in Evergreen Cemetery.
