Jessie Bell Ferguson was born in Kinkcaldy, Scotland. September 7, 1841 and came with her parents to America in a sailing vessel in 1850. They settled in the clearings, near Waupun, Wisconsin. She received her education and taught school in Wisconsin. September 22, 1868 she married Benjamin R Stouffer and went with him to Pennsylvania, lived near Carlisle, where he was engaged in the milling business. Six year later they came back to Wisconsin for one year and then moved to Richardson county, Nebr., living there five years, then moving to Bellevue, Nebr., where they lived till after the death of her husband, October 29, 1923. She came to live with her eldest son, Edwin F Stouffer at Glen Elder, Kansas. September 1,1924, where she died April 16, 1928 aged 86 years, 7 months and 8 days.Funeral services where held at the Reformed Mennonite Church this afternoon, conducted by Rev. M R Deter, of Sterling, Ill. The remains will be taken to her old home and laid beside her husband in Bellevue Cemetery in Nebraksa. She was the mother of six children, three of whom proceeded her in death. She is survived by three sons, Edwin F. Glen Elder; David F and Benjamin R. of Bellevue, Nebraska and 10 Grandchildern and 1 Great Grandchild.
