Helen F. Sontag, 72, of Sebewaing, Michigan, died Aug. 31, 2008 at St. Mary's of Michigan in Saginaw following a six-month illness.

The former Helen Weber was born Aug. 27, 1936 in Kilmanagh, daughter of the late Edwin and Martha (Fuerst) Weber.

Helen F. Weber was united in marriage to James A. Sontag on June 8, 1957 in Gagetown. He preceded her in death in January 1997.

Helen Sontag had been employed as a secretary at the Owendale-Gagetown School system for 19 years before retiring in 1998., She was an avid reader and enjoyed bowling.

Surviving were one son and daughter-in-law, Mark (Sherry) Sontag, and one daughter, Terri Mihacsi, all of Sebewaing; four grandchildren, Darcie (Chris) Hohne of North Branch, Stacey (Scotty) Buehrly of Owendale, Charlie Mihacsi and Jennifer Mihacsi, both of Sebewaing; two great-grandchildren, Brayden Buehrly and Madeline Hohne; a half brother, Edwin (Chris) Weber of Kawkawlin; and several nieces and nephews.

Funeral: Dinkel-Juengel Funeral Home in Sebewaing. The Rev. Charles Kuhl officiated with burial in St. Agatha Catholic Cemetery in Gagetown.
