My Grandfather Walter Zygmunt Ochalek was born and raised in Hamtramck, Michigan. He met my Grandmother there at a Halloween dance when they were both very young. They were close in age, only 4 months between their birthdays. He was a cook in the U.S. Army during World War II. He raised his children with love and sadly died November 8, 1999 after he had been married to my Grandmother for 53 years.
