George C. Snyder Jr. age 92 of Mechanicsburg formerly of North Apollo, passed away Saturday, April 4, 2009 at the Susquehanna Valley Nursing and Rehab Center, Columbia, PA. Born March 22, 1917 in Vandergrift, he was a son of the late George C. and Bessie Varner Snyder Sr.
He retired from Wean United Engineering and Foundry Co. in Vandergrift after 42 years service and was a member of the Elks, Apollo.

He was preceded in death by his first wife Lela, second wife Eleanor, brothers Oliver and Cullen, granddaughter Laurie Laedlein and great grandson Matthew C. Allshouse.

Surviving are a son John of Apollo; three daughters, Judy Branzet of Arnold, Karen Casella of Apollo, and Kathleen Allshouse of Mechanicsburg; as well as eleven grandchildren, eighteen great grandchildren and a great-great grandson.

Funeral services will be 2:00 PM Thursday at Malpezzi Funeral Home, Mechanicsburg, where there will be a viewing from 1:00 PM.

Burial will be 11:30 AM Friday in Riverview Cemetery, Apollo, PA.
