MICHAEL L. STRAND Michael was born in Salt Lake City, UT on March 7, 1952 and passed away in Loma Linda, CA on April 2, 2009.
He had been a resident of Temecula since 1998. Michael is survived by his loving wife of 22 years Janet Strand; 2 daughters Amanda & Tessa; soon to be son-in-law Timothy Greene; mother Nannette Comer; 4 sisters Carrie Strand, Stacy Freeland, Molly McCune & Connie Zazueta; 3 brothers Patrick Comer, Kevin Comer, & Tod Friend; and many nieces, nephews, and friends.
Michael was raised and attended schools in the Garden Grove and Escondido areas. He later graduated with honors from Clarke College in Vancouver, WA. Michael also served as Crew Chief in the USAF during the Vietnam War. Professionally, he worked as an Aerospace Quality Engineer for over 25 years. Over that time he worked for General Dynamics, GE Aircraft Engines, Intel, and Parker Hannefin. He had a real knowledge of all aircrafts. Michael enjoyed drag racing and scuba diving as a young man and more recently he loved deep-sea fishing and doing woodworking in his garage.
Above anything, he loved to be with his family and with his dog, Emmy. Michael's family is going to miss his good sense of humor and his friendly spirit.
A graveside service will be held on Tues. at 2:15 p.m. at Riverside National Cemetery, Stage # 2.
