Services Held for F. A. Lamphere
Services for Frederick Allen Lamphere, 73, a life resident of Weedsport, who died Friday in a local nursing home were held on Tuesday in the Kelly Funeral Home, the Rev. C. Wellington Hardy officiating. Burial was in Weedsport Rural Cemetery.
Mr. Lamphere was a deacon, a former member of the board of trustees and teacher of the Men's Bible Class of Weedsport Baptist Church. He was a member of the Raw Fur Buyers Association.
Until his retirement in 1960, he was chief lock operator on the Barge Canal.
Surviving hare his wife, Mrs. Jessie Klumpp Lamphere; two daughters, Miss Eula Lamphere of Weedsport and Mrs. Stuart (Helen) Longendyke of Averill Park; a sister, Mrs. William A. Ryan of Rochester; five grandchildren and several nieces and nephews.
