Dolly Iona Brown, 89, of Hallettsville, Texas, died Oct. 8, 2007. She was born Dec. 7, 1917 to Benjamin and Sarah Briggs Evans in Gravity, Iowa. She was a member of the Sacred Heart Church in Hallettsville. Dolly worked with the Sheriff's office as a dispatcher and for the ambulance service for many years.

Dolly is survived by son Anthony Brown and wife Debbie of Sheridan, Texas and 3 grandchildren, son Steve Elliston of Alaska and 1 granddaughter, daughter Kelly Putman of Congress AZ and 7 grandchildren, daughter Lynnette Turner, and 3 more grandchildren from her daughter Gail Pollard of Glendale CA, who predeceased her. She was also predeceased by sons Jerry Romano Turner and Dana Turner.

Pallbearers: Robert Wurm, Larry Appelt, Robert Obelgoner, Calvin Albright, Jim Jakubek, and Dennis Kocian.

Service: 2pm Thursday, October 11, 2007 at the Sacred Heart Church in Hallettsville. Visitation: 1pm Wednesday, October 10, 2007 at the Kubena Funeral Home. Rosary: 7pm Wednesday at the Kubena Funeral Home. Officiate: Rev. John Peters. Burial: Cheetham Cemetery in Sheridan, Texas. Memorials: Sacred Heart Church, or American Cancer Society.
