Bob worked in construction, as a finish carpenter. He enjoyed hiking, mushroom hunting, fishing, camping and nature. Bob coached little league baseball and softball. He was an avid sports fan, especially football, and definitely the Green Bay Packers. Bob's true enjoyment came from his children and grandchildren.
Bob died on Tuesday, June 23, 2009, at the Skiff Medical Center in Newton. He was 61 years old. Bob was preceded in death by his parents.
Those left to honor Bob's memory include his daughters, Rona Skow and her fiancé, Scott Auten of Newton, Iowa, Heather and Gunnery Sergeant Paul Brown of M.C.A.S. Iwakuni, Japan, Meghan Skow of Monroe, Iowa; his grandchildren, Stevie Skow, Nathan Butler-Skow, Brooklyn Mallicoat, Meradith Brown, Taylor Brown, Nina Brown; his sister, Kris Quick of Puyallup, Washington; and his nieces and nephews, Todd Hickey, Natalie Quick, Angela (Quick) Houseworth and John Quick.
Friends may call at the Pence ~ Reese Funeral Home after 3:00 p.m. on Friday, June 26, 2009. The family will greet friends from 6:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. at the funeral home.
Funeral services will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Saturday, June 27, 2009, at the Pence ~ Reese Funeral Home.
Memorials may be designated in Robert's name to the Izaak Walton League or to establish an educational fund for his grandchildren.
