Death of Charles L. Warren
An Old and Respected Resident of Florence Passes Away Suddenly
Charles Lyman Warren, 80, a well-known and respected citizen of Northampton died yesterday noon at his home on North Main street in Florence, having been in failing health for some years. His illness terminated suddenly in heart failure, death being unexpected. Mr Warren was born on the place at Mountain street in Williamsburg which was known for many years as the Warren homestead. He was the son of Mather Warren, a leading man of the region in his time. Charles Warren passed most of his mature life in Florence, and was formerly actively engaged in farming and apple growing. At one time, he conducted a market business in Florence. He lived quietly, but was widely known ande held in high esteem. His was a friendly, generous nature, and he will be greatly missed in the home and village circles. He was a member of the Congregational church of Florence, and until failing health kept him at home, was a faithful attendant at its services.
Mr Warren is survived by his widow and six children, who are Charles F of Chicago, Elizabeth and Sarah of Florence, Mary, who teaches in Louisville, Ky., Mrs Oliver E Hurd of Montreal and Mrs Fred H Ulrich of Greenfield; also two brothers, Rev Dr William F Warren of Brookline, former president of Boston university, and Rev Dr Henry W Warren, Methodist Episcopal bishop of Colorado.

Funeral of Charles L Warren
The funeral of Charles L Warren was held yesterday afternoon at 2 at his home on North Main street in Florence and was largely attended. Rev S A Barrett, pastor of the Florence Congregational church, and Rev E G Cobb, former pastor of the same church, officiated, the former offering prayer and reading Tennyson's "Crossing the Bar" and the latter reading the scriptures. There was singing by a quartet consisting of F M and C H Readio, E A and Harold Currier, three selections including "Abide with me" and "The homeland" being rendered. The bearers were S S Warner, Alan C Warner, Luther H Warner, A M Ware, William Cordes and John L Warner. Burial was in Spring Grove cemetery. All of Mr Warren's children were at the service, as was also his brother Rev W F Warren of Brookline. His other brother, Bishop H W Warren of Colorado, was unable to come.
