Slauson)-Mr. Harper's work which was chiefly in Latin showed him to be a gentleman of fine mind,excellant scholarship and good teaching power.

(Another Quote from letter) He served for ten years,first as a instructor,then as assistant professor of Zoology in Northern University. (Third quote from letter)-We are sorry to lose him,but in 1914 owing chiefly to health of his family he resigned and went on to an orchard farm out of Bedford,Va.

There are several other recommendations from his time of teaching at A&M College of Texas. Also, reference to his brother (quote) a brother of eminent botanist R.A. Harper of Columbia University. Also, lists-before coming to us(Northwestern)-Dr. E. H. Harper had been Professor of Biology at Alma College,Alma Michigan.

In another letter from W.A. Locy-(Eugene Harper)-During his connection with Northwestern he published seven research papers and had previously published several. He taught Embryology,Histology,Genetics and Physiology with us.I have never seen better teaching than his course in Histology.
