Mrs. Elizabeth Ladner died Tuesday, June 17, at 2:30 P.M. She has been in failing health for several months and was blind the past few years. She has made her home with her youngest daughter Mrs. Fred Jones for a number of years. The deceased was born in Nova Scotia 93 years ago, her maiden name being Elizabeth Workman. After her marriage to George Ladner they moved to Prince Edward Island. From there they came to Easton 44 years ago, where she has lived nearly ever since. Mr. Ladner died 32 years ago. Mrs. Ladner was the mother of 11 children. One son and one daughter died after they grew to man and womanhood. She leavers 9 children - Mrs. James Brooks, Skowhegan, Miss Ruth Ladner, Mrs. Hazen Huson, of Mapleton, Mrs. Annie Fuller and Mrs. Fred Jones of Easton, Jacob Ladner, Easton, William and Andrew of Mars Hill and George of Presque Isle, also 25 grandchildren and 26 great grandchildren. The funeral was held at the home of Fred Jones, Rev. Aaron Kinney of Westfield preached the sermon. The pall was borne by four grandsons - James and Banford Ladner and Stora and George Fuller., L. E. Flewelling had charge of arrangements. She was laid to rest beside her husband in the family burying ground on the old home farm where she lived so many years.
