Billy Gene Jones of Afton died Thursday, March 1, 2007, at Craig General Hospital in Vinita after a sudden illness. He was 60.

Jones was born Sept. 8, 1946, in Fairland to C.B. “Boots” and Opal I. (Burch) Jones. He married Martha Kasper in Miami on Feb. 12, 1971. She survives, of the home.

Jones was a paper hanger and owned and operated his own business, BJ’s Wallpapering. He enjoyed riding horses and spending time with his family.

He was preceded in death by his parents.

Survivors include his wife; four daughters, Melissa Spriggs and her husband Shawn of Fairland, Arin Welch of Sand Springs, Christy Jones of Grove, Janalynn Robator and her husband Joe of Dudley, Mass.; one son, James Watt II of Tulsa; one sister, Margaret Cunningham and her husband LeRoy of Catoosa; seven grandchildren, two great nieces and a great nephew.

A funeral service will be conducted at 1:30 p.m. Monday at the First Christian Church in Afton with Delbert “Buzzy” Roberts officiating. Interment will be at Mt. Hope Cemetery in Afton. Pallbearers will be Rusty Earl, Tim Scott, Terry Miller, Jerry Wayne Chandler, Buddy Watt and Frank Rice.

The family will receive friends from 4 to 6 p.m. today at the Adcock Funeral Home in Afton.

Services are under the direction of Thomas Funeral Home in Welch.
