Basil Gaston, 52, of Stevenson Ranch, California, formerly of Clancy, Montana and Warren, Ohio, passed away peacefully on September 2, 2009 at Kaiser Hospital in Woodland Hills, California after a valiant fight against pneumonia and its subsequent complications.
He was born on October 2, 1956, in Warren, Ohio, son of the late Victor and Mary Gaston.
He was a member of Our Lady of Perpetual Help Catholic Church. Basil worked at Northop Grumman for over 22 years. He resided in Stevenson Ranch for the past 13 years. Basil was an avid outdoorsman and spent many wonderful vacations fishing in Alaska and Montana. He loved all of nature, with a special love of animals, especially his pet dogs. He was also an avid gardener with a prized lilac bush and rose garden. Most of all, he cherished his family and life long friends, expressing gratitude for the many blessings in his life on a daily basis.
Basil is survived by his loving family: wife, Lisa Gaston; mother-in-law, Elizabeth Ferigo; sister-in-laws and brother-in-laws: Karen and Mike Herwig and daughter Elizabeth, Diane and Paul Martinsen and children Maggie, Nick and Chris, Renee' and Jeremy Marshall and children Lily and Zack; sisters Rosemary Williams and Vera Black; brother and sister-in-law Victor and Dolly Gaston and brother Jack Gaston. His parents, Victor and Mary Gaston and brothers, Stanley and Phillip Gaston, preceded him in death. Basil will remain in our hearts forever.
