Johann Philipp Weller emigrated from Diedenshausen, Germany to America in 1730. He first settled in Amwell, NJ. In 1740 he purchased 280 acres along the Pohatcong Creek in Willow Grove, Greenwich Twp., Sussex (now Warren Couny), NJ. for 150 pounds. The Weller Free Church Cemetery, where he and his wife are buried, is situated atop a hill overlooking the original farmstead.
