"Mazie", as she was known, and her husband, Craig Miller were active in government and politics. Mazie was the first president of the Michigan League of Women Voters. Among her confidants were several notable women leaders of the early 1900's, including Susan B. Anthony, Lady Nancy Astor, Mrs. Henry Ford, Mrs. Herbert Hoover and Mrs. Calvin Coolidge. She and Mr. Miller entertained in their home, President William Howard Taft, several Michigan Governors, U.S. Senators and congressmen. She also was renowned for her "Lilac Tea", the social event of Marshall society.
