Civil War; 96th New York Infantry

He was a New Hampshire native who enlisted in Plattsburg, New York on March 30, 1864. Prior to the war, he was a farmer (in 1860), residing in the town of Jay, New York.

As a Musician, he was mustered into active service with Company C, 96th Regiment New York Infantry on April 9, 1864.

He remained with this command until his discharge on June 8, 1865 at Fort Monroe, Virginia.

He died in Moriah Center, New York on February 28, 1916
