Sophronia was born 2/23/1860 while her mother was still married to her first husband, David T. Faucet. Faucet claimed that Nancy Learned Faucet had left him in April 1859 and that the child was not his. In the divorce, filed in May 1860, he also claimed that she had committed adultery with several men, so he put her in a stage and sent her home to her father but she instead ended up staying with James Inks for a few months. Nancy then left Inks, according the divorce file from Faucet, and went to San Andreas where she "indulged in public prostitution", after which she returned to Inks. The courts of Calaveras County declared Sophronia to be illegitimate. Because the dates, it would be hard to accurately determine the father of Sophronia.

Robert H. Branch married Sophronia Inks 8/19/1877 and they divorced in 1892. Their children were Frank R, Elmer H and Augustus Branch.

Sophronia Branch married James H. Gillen 12/24/1893. Their child was Stanford Leland Gillen. They divorced in 1901.

Sophriona E. Gillen married Edward Seamans 9/12/1901.
It is not known why she chose to be buried with the last name Gillen. They divorced in 1907.

From the Prospect 5/26/1900: "Anyone desiring private nursing can find a first class accommodation by addressing Mrs. S.E Gillen, Altaville."
