1927 - 2010
John Franklin Green, age 82, of Vance, died Feb. 2, 2010, at home. Services will be 2 p.m. Friday February 5, 2010 at Heritage Chapel Funeral Home with Rev. Mike Simpson officiating. Burial will follow in Tuscaloosa Memorial Park.
Mr. Green served in the Merchant Marines, Coast Guard, and Navy. After retiring from BF Goodrich, he farmed and took care of family.
He was preceded in death by his wife, Jean; his parents, Dillard and Lacy Green; and all his siblings: five brothers and six sisters.
Pallbearers will be Ken Hickman, Rodney Johnston, Shane Johnston, Jerry Hall, Gary Hosmer, and Jerald Woods.

"JF and Jean had no children of their own, but they were loved dearly by their many nieces and nephews. They spoiled us all. And to say Uncle Jay "took care of family" is an understatement. He oversaw medicine and birthday cards and a million other things!"
