He worked for American Standard Plumbing and Heating as a salesman in Rock Island, Illinois. He came to Green Bay in 1953 as a manager to open the American Standard wholesale branch. Donald worked at Northwest Engineering for twenty-five years where he became a Corporate Secretary, retiring in 1984.
He was also a member of the Free and Accepted Masons of seventy years, Washington Lodge #21, a charter member of the Northeast Wisconsin Consistory and Beja Shrine Temple. He was part of the supercycle team and Green Bay Shrine Club. Donald was also a lifetime member of the alumni association of the University of Iowa, a life member of the Delta Tau Delta Fraternity, and an Elder, clerk of session, and Sunday school superintendent of First Presbyterian Church, Green Bay.
Donald was an excellent golfer. He played in courses all over the US and Canada as well as the "Old Course" in St. Andrews, Scotland.
Donald is survived by his wife Peggy; son, Dr. John Wolfe and his wife Dr. Ruth Lamdan of Philadelphia; daughter, Anne Wolfe of Chicago; one grandson, Doug Mandell and his wife Laura of Portland, Oregon, and dear friends Jerry and Lillian Poss.
He is preceded in death by his parents.
Visitation for Donald will be held at Lyndahl Funeral Home on Monday, February 22, 2010 from 2 p.m. until 4 p.m. where a funeral service will take place with the Rev. Randy Argall officiating. Masonic Service to follow. Inurnment will take place at a later date at Fort Howard Memorial Park.
The family would appreciate contributions to a memorial fund in Donald's name.
