I was born near McCanna, North Dakota, daughter of Iver and Andria Grodahl. I have two sisters: Ellen Ann Dickson, Grand Forks; Irene Griffin, McCanna and a brother John from Hemet, California. After graduating from Larimore High school, I attended Wahpeton State School of Science Business School for one year. I worked as a bookkeeper in Wahpeton and Grand forks before joining the Women's Air Force (WAF). I was stationed in Texas, Arizona, California and Japan. While in the service I met my husband Bill. We were married at Nagoya, Japan on March 7, 1953. I received my discharge there and stayed in Japan until May 1954. After Bill finished his four years in the Air force we moved to his home town, Linton, Indiana, and here we are.

We have three sons and three granddaughters.

I started back to work when our youngest son started kindergarten. I was Purchasing Agent for Keller Industries for 19 years. I spent a few months with the U.S. Post Office, then on the Naval Weapons Support Center, Crane, Indiana for eight years before retiring.

Since retiring, I work at my church doing their Sunday Bulletins and Monthly Newsletters. Bill also puts out the American Legion newsletter each month for our local post. I enjoy working on the computer and spending time on the Internet. I have three patchwork quilts in various stages and hope to finish them before the year 2000. Summers I enjoy playing golf. I belong to a Ladies League which sponsors a tournament each year.

One trip which was a wonderful experience for me was to spend six weeks in Norway with my mother several years ago. My mother immigrated from there and it gave me an insight on how and where my roots were formed.

I feel blessed to have been raised in Mccanna-Larimore community and want to thank the Larimore community and school for giving the class of 1948 the opportunity to be reunited for our 50th Anniversary.
