He was the son of Henry White Warren and Diantha Angeline Kilgore. Originally from Boston, he married Ida Carey White of Pennsylvania on April 25, 1882 and settled in Philadelphia. They had children Helen White Warren, Henry Mather Warren, Douglas Stockton Warren, and Richard Fairfield Warren. He was a founding vice-president of the Devon Horse Show in 1896. Henry authored a travel guide "To and Fro" in 1908 about his travels around the world.
