Sister Marie Doucette, age 95, died on May 27, 2010 at Mary Immaculate Nursing/Restorative Center, Lawrence, MA. She was born in Lowell, MA to Philip and Anne (Gaudet) Doucette. Marie became a Sister of Charity of Montreal, Grey Nun in 1936. For two decades, Sr. Doucette served as a childcare worker in the orders orphanages in Worcester, MA, Lawrence, MA, and Nashua, NH. She helped prepare her students to become well adjusted productive women as they left the orphanage. While missioned in Montreal, Canada, she worked at Accueil Bonneau (Food and services agency for the homeless). In her long career, Sr. Marie also assumed various administrative positions and support service ministries within the Congregation. She be remembered as a very prayerful and devoted Grey Nun. She had much initiative and used it for the good of those she served. Her organizational skills were an asset and well appreciated. Sr. Marie loved those who were confided to her care. She leaves behind her dear nieces, a grandniece, and many cousins, friends, and former pupils.
