I seen a tree that had his name and there was a news paper article that indicated he was the oldest Frisco Pensioner. The tree indicated he married two Mapes Women, one Sarah and one Martha.

His death certificate shows his occupation as machinist. Parents listed as Case Box and Sarah Mapes, both of TN. I almost thought the name of the father was Cash Box according to the handwriting on the document. Yet either way Case of Cash it appears the family was naming and humor involved. Unless he was given the maiden name of one of his grandmothers. When I zoomed in on the document the name really looked more like Cash. Mother appears to be Jane Murphy. The death certificate shows his birth as Jan 11, 1836, interred 11-12-57. Martha E Maples listed as wife and Mrs. Wm Box listed informant.

It is possible the name of the father was Charles Box as I did a search and it came up on a tree...but still the zoom in did not look like an abbreviation of Chas. on the death certificate.
