James K. Martin, 71, Ionia township farmer, died at his home in Ionia township Thursday morning. He had been in poor health for the past year. He was born June 16, 1875, in Ionia county, the son of Mr. and Mrs. Robert Martin. He has lived his entire life in Ionia county.
He is survived by his wife, Linna; three daughters, Irene of Lansing and Marleen and Margarette of Saranac; two sons, Louis of Traverse City and James Kennedy of Pontiac; two brothers, Thomas of Ionia and William of Hubbardston; a sister, Phoebe Carpenter of Palo; and eight grandchildren.
Funeral services will be held from the Boynton funeral home Sunday at 2 p.m. with the Rev. W. L. Cruthers officiating. Interment will be at the North Plains cemetery. The body will be at the home until Sunday.
