Cecil K. Mead
Age 91, of Owosso, passed away Wednesday, February 21, 2001, at Memorial Healthcare Center.
Mr. Mead worked at General Motors for 33 years, retiring in 1973.
Services will be held at Jennings-Lyons Funeral Chapel, Saturday, February 24, 2001, at 1 p.m. Mr. Andy McNees will officiate with burial at Hillcrest Memorial Gardens. Visitation at the funeral home will be today 2 to 8 p.m., with the family present from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m. There will be an Eagle Service, Friday, 7 p.m. at the funeral home.
Mr. Mead was born in Brant, May 10 1909, the son of Charles and Hazel (Clark) Mead, and had lived most of his life in Owosso. On October 7, 1933, he married Marie Elston in Bowling Green, Ohio. She passed away May 11, 1985.
He was a member of the FOE #851 for over 50 years; and a member of the National Rifle Association. Cecil loved to golf and was a very faithful watcher of auto racing.
Survivors include; daughter Betty (John) Dixon of Corunna; grandchildren, Kenneth (Teresa) Dixon of Corunna, Ronald (Maria) Dixon of Corunna; six great-grandchildren; and one great-great-grandchild; brother Junior (Ruth) Monroe of Owosso; many nieces and nephews.
He was predeceased by; wife; granddaughter, Deborah, four brothers, Max and Robert Monroe, Dale and Howard Mead.
