Mrs. Griffith was born in Roanoke, Va., and was the daughter of the late Isaac Eldridge Hurt and Enid Carlotta Maddox Hurt. She was the widow of Bobby Griffith who predeceased her in 1994 after 38 years.
She was a former resident of Roanoke, where she was a member of Virginia Heights Baptist Church. Mrs. Griffith worked for General Electric for 17 years. She retired from the city of Virginia Beach after 16 years at the Wildwood Clinic. She was currently a member of Thalia Lynn Baptist Church in Virginia Beach.
Survivors include two sons, Patrick and Mark; and one granddaughter, Marissa Carney, all of Virginia Beach.
A graveside service will be conducted at 11 a.m. Friday at Colonial Grove Memorial Park by the Rev. Marc Olsen. The family will receive friends at H.D. Oliver Funeral Apts., Laskin Road Chapel, on Thursday evening from 7 to 8:30 p.m.
