Parishville's Oldest Resident, 94, Dies
Parishville-- Funeral services for Mrs. Anna Wilcox Raymond,94, Parishvilles oldest resident,
were held at 2 p.m. Sunday at the home of her daughter, Mrs. Malcom (Bernice) Wilcox. The Rev. Marion Oberman, pastor of the Parishville Baptist Church, officiated. Burial was in Ogdensburg Cemetery.
She died late Friday night.
Mrs. Raymond was born at Lisbon June 29, 1865, daughter of William and Ellen Castle Wilcox.
On Sept. 17, 1885, she was married to William B. Raymond. The wedding took place at the Baptist Church in Ogdensburg The couple lived in Ogdensburg until May, 1904, when they moved to Massena where they purchased a bakery on Main St. They operated the bakery until 1916 when they retired.
They made their home at 12 Danforth place. Massena. Mr. Raymond died in April 1929 and Mrs. Raymond continued to maintain the home, although for the past ten years she had spent much of her time with her daughter in Parishville.
She was an active member of the Baptist Church.
Surviving are two daughters, Mrs. Jennie W. Pettis of Washington. D.C.. and Mrs. Malcolm (Bernice) Wilcox of Parishville; two grandchildren and four great grandchildren. A son, Merton Raymond, died in 1927.
The bearers were four nephews, Harry Tracy of Rochester; Harlow and Leon Tracy of Massena,
and Carl Tracy of West Stockholm.
