Andrew was born May 15, 1909 in Chicago, IL, the son of Andrew Andel Sr. and Elizabeth (Schultz) Andel. At the age of three he moved with his parents to Rothsay, MN where they farmed. He attended local schools there and was baptized and confirmed in the Lutheran Church. Later the family moved to Everdell.

On September 16, 1931 he married Evelyn Green, daughter of Frank and Hulda Green of Breckenrige, MN. During the 1930's they lived around the Foxhome, MN where he worked as a farm laborer, He worked for the Northern Pacific railroad at Foxhome from 1940 until 1949. In 1949 the family moved to Breckenridge, MN where he went to work for the Great Northern Railroad. He worked for them until 1958 when he had to retire due to health reasons. Evelyn and Andrew were divorced and Andrew continued to make his home in Breckenridge. He was a member of the Eagles.

Andrew passed away Jan. 17, 1971 in Barnesville, MN. Funeral services were held at the Breckenridge Lutheran Church and interment was in Riverside Cemetery Breckenridge, MN.

At the time of death he was survived by seven daughters; his mother; six brothers, six sisters and thirteen grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his parents; a daughter and a granddaughter.
