Thomas Jefferson Burrows, 63, of Spotswood, died Wednesday, October 20, 2010 at his home.

Born in New Brunswick to John P. and Wanda (Novak) Burrows, Thomas was a lifelong Spotswood resident.

He served his country in the United States Marine Corp during the Vietnam era.

He was a heavy equipment mechanic, primarily working on large trucks and buses for more than 30 years, retiring in 2009.

For the last 2 years he was employed as a bus driver for Irvin Raphael, Inc. of East Brunswick.

He was a communicant of Immaculate Conception Church of Spotswood and a member of the Spotswood VFW Memorial Post 4589.

He was true animal lover and an avid fan of NASCAR racing and the NY Mets. But above all, Thomas was a very loving man who will be deeply missed by his family.

He is survived by his wife of 19 years, Laura Gallagher-Burrows of Spotswood; his daughter Lorrin Natusch and her husband Billy of Florida; his very special grandson Christopher Gallagher of Spotswood; his brother Robert Kornacki of Georgia; his sister Cookie Zajac of Virginia, and; a host of family and close friends.

Funeral services will begin at 9:30 AM Monday from Spotswood Funeral Home, 475 Main Street, Spotswood, followed by a 10:15 AM Mass of Christian Burial from Immaculate Conception Church, Spotswood. Military Honors will be conveyed in the chapel at Holy Cross Burial Park, South Brunswick immediately following the Mass. Cremation will be private. The family will receive friends on Sunday from 6:00 to 9:00 PM at the funeral home.

In lieu of flowers, donations honoring Thomas' memory may be made to either the Disabled American Veterans, P.O. Box 14301, Cincinnati, OH 45250-0301, online at www.dav.org, or to an animal shelter or rescue of one's choice.
