We regret to learn that Alexandre Barrow, Esq., died recently at his residence in West Baton Rouge. Mr. Barrow was the eldest son of the Hon. Alexander Barrow, U. S. Senator from Louisiana, and was in the 37th year of his age. He was educated at Harvard University. In 1852, having just attained his majority, he was elected to the House of Representatives from West Baton Rouge, and in 1859 to the State Senate. He was a member of the Senate during the whole Confederate regime. He was a short time in the military service of the Confederacy and was in the battle of Baton Rouge.
Mr. Barrow was a gentleman of considerable ability, and was possessed of many noble traits of character. His death will be much regretted by a large circle of intimate personal friends.
