Celia A. Runyan, age 90, of Corunna, Michigan, passed away Wednesday, Aug. 8, 2007, at Durand Senior Care and Rehab, in Duran, Michigan.

Celia Nickels was born in Corunna, Aug. 24, 1916, the daughter of John Nickels and Otilla (Franks) Nickels, and had resided most of her life in Corunna. On Sept. 19, 1936, she married Luther Runyan in Corunna. Luther died on Dec. 30, 1994.

She had worked for Corunna Manufacturing, Redmond's and for Universal Electric for 19 years. When her husband was serving his country in World War II overseas, she worked very hard and raised her family during that time. Celia loved to get dressed up when she was going out to lunch with her friends from the Friendship Club. She was also a life time member of the VFW Auxiliary 4006, Corunna. Her grandchildren were very special to her.

Survivors included: one son, Gaylord Runyan and Bonnie Runyan of Bancroft; five grandchildren, Michael Earl Runyan of Corunna, Kirt Duane and Paula Runyan of Durand, Jonathan Maynard and Jeri Runyan of Corunna, Lisa Ann and Steve Strouse of Breckenridge, Korry Kay Runyan of Clio; 11 great-grandchildren; one sister, Rosaline Floyd of Brownstown, Mich.; several brothers and sisters-in-law; many nieces and nephews.

She was predeceased by: husband; one son and daughter-in-law, Larry and Charlotte; one great-granddaughter, Haley Runyan; one sister, Irene Tomlinson; one brother, Floyd Nickels.
