Al was born on September 15, 1913 to Tomás Adame and Lydia Aguirre in Torreon, Coahuila, Mexico. He moved with his widowed mother, brother and sister to Eagle Pass, TX when he was seven years old. Al met his future wife, Mary Cathryn Gray of Lake City, MI, at Ferris.
