Albert E. Ball, 56 years of age, died at his home on Sourth Cedar street at 7 o'clock this morning. Funeral services will be held from Jenning's Chapel at 10 o'clock Saturday morning, with Rev. F. E. Haight, Free Methodist minister, officiating, and burial at Hill Crest cemetery.

The deceased is survived by his wife, a son, nine, and a daughter, five years old.
Albert Edward Ball was born 7/29/1862 in Ontario Canada. He died 10/19/1927 in Owosso Michigan.

8-17-2013 Special note on birth date of my Grandfather.

Grandfather came to Michigan from Hespeler, Canada May 18, 1882. Reported on his Declaration of Intention dated June 27, 1917. His age at time would have beeen 11 years of age.

His parents were both alive in 1882 and they passed away in 1898 and 1907.

American census records:(1900--1862 birth), (1920--shows 1871 Death cert 1871).

Canadian (1871 census shows 1862) (1881 census shows birth for 1862) (1891 census shows birth 1862).

Mother's age if born in 1862 would be about 38 years of age.

Mother's age if born in 1871 would be about 47 years of age.

Birth records based on Canadian Census and age of mother supports 1862 vs 1871.

Take your pick I believe 1862.

He was survived by his wife Minnie Ball, son Albert and daughter Ruth.

His parents were William Wilson Ball (Died in 1898)and Jane Ann Chishom (Died in 1907). He had three brothers and two sisters. Harriet Jane Trott (Ball) (died 1880), Samuel (died 1893), James (died 1923) Samuel (died 1927). His sister Gertrude came to the United States in 1920 and died in California after 1935.

The family ancestry was from Germany and Scotland (Seeking religious freedom). Ball family came from Germany, via England, to upper state New York and then to Canada. Family was split over the American fight for independence against England.

His G-G Great Grandfather Jaoob Ball and his G-Great Grandfather Peter Mann Ball were in Butlers Rangers fighting against the Americans in the war of independence. His Grandfather Peter Mann Ball II fought in the war of 1812 for England.

My grandfather was a farmer for most of his life but was working for the Buick Motor Company in Owosso, Michigan at the time of his death.

Little was known about my grandfather and it has taken about five years to put together the history of the family.
