Frances Isabel was the daughter of Phillip F (1824-1890) & Margaret Jennie (Haines)(1834-1872)Cyphers.
Her parents history is an interesting one. Her father went away to the Civil War and when he didn't return (he may have been reported missing or dead) Jennie married a second time, Frank Williams. After the second marriage her first husband,Phillip returned. He had been injured in the war. For reasons unknown, Jennie remained with her second husband and Phillip went on to marry two more times. Siblings of Frances were: Sarah, John Henry, & Mary who died age 10. John Henry went by the surname of his step-father, Williams. Sarah married and moved to New Mexico where the father, Phillip Cyphers eventually moved and remained until he died, age 66. Mother, Jennie Haines Cyphers/Williams, died young, age 38, of congestion of the lungs.
Frances married 26 Jul 1875 Henry Buell Goodale(1823-1903). Children: Un-named baby, Ethel, Lillian, Mabel, Eva, Harry, Jennie, Russell, Theron, & Phillip. Of their ten children, five died young. Mabel born & died 1883 abt 8 months; Russell died 1897 age 6; Phillip born 1895, died unknown; Lillian died 1901, age 21 and was buried the day before her younger brother, Theron died, age 7.
