the Villages, Florida, formerly of Milan, MI

Age 85, died peacefully on January 15, 2011, at Leesburg Regional Medical Center, Leesburg, Florida with her loving family by her side. She was born December 23, 1925 in Milan Township, Michigan to Eugene and Letha (Raymond) Olds.

Marjorie grew up in Cone (Milan Twp), Michigan and lived most of her life in Milan. In 2005 she moved to Englewood Florida where she enjoyed her beach home on Manasota Key. In May, 2010, she moved to The Villages, Florida to be closer to family. Marjorie was a member of Lincoln Community United Methodist Church and most recently attended New Covenant United Methodist Church in The Villages, FL.

Marjorie graduated from Milan High School in 1943. After high school she was employed at the Willow Run Bomber Plant, and the King-Seely Corp. in Ann Arbor. On July 10, 1945, she married Gerald Lyon, together they had six children. She was a loving and devoted mother and homemaker.

She is survived by her six children, Brenda (Karl)Wilken, Robert (Alison) Lyon, Cathy (Michael) Frank, Charles (Roxanne) Lyon, Kimberly (Thomas) Birchmeier, and Stacey Lyon, sixteen grandchildren, ten great-grandchildren, five step-children, and several nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her parents, her sister Katherine Mastie, and husband, Ralph Haas.

Visitation will be held at Ochalek-Stark Funeral Home on Thursday from 2-4 and 6-8pm. where the funeral service will be held 11:00am Friday, January 21, 2011 with the Reverend Emily Frank officiating. Burial will follow at Oakwood Cemetery, Saline, Michigan. Contributions in her memory may be made to Lincoln Community United Methodist Church, New Covenant United Methodist Church BEACH After-School Ministry, or Voices for Children of North Central Florida, Inc.
