Aileen Patterson Cox, 87, formerly of 300 Oakland Ave, widow of Alvie Cox passed away Saturday, Jan. 8, 2011 at Self Regional Medical Center in Greenwood, SC.
Born in Shelby, NC, she was a daughter of the late James Seth Patterson and Cora Dale Patterson.
She was a retired textile employee with Abbeville Mills after many years of service and was also a faithful member of Southside Baptist Church. She will be missed by her loving family and her many friends.
Survivors include 2 sons, John Cox and his wife, Marsha, of Abbeville, SC and Harold Cox of Loganville, GA; 1 brother, William Thomas Patterson of Kings Mountain, NC; a sister, Frances P. Wright of Shelby, NC; 5 grandchildren and 3 great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by a daughter, Patricia Ann Cox and 2 sisters, Ethel Hord and Vergie Lail.
Funeral services will be conducted Thursday, Jan. 13, 2011 at 2:00 PM in the Chandler Chapel at Chandler-Jackson Funeral Home with the Rev. Earl Hartley officiating. The burial will follow in Melrose Cemetery. The family is at the home of her son Mr. & Mrs. John Cox 875 Hwy. 28 North Abbeville, SC
