Schrumpf, Margaret M. 83, of Hart, went to be with her Lord and Savior Friday, May 9, 2008. She was born June 20, 1924 in Hart to Clayton and Flora (Stanley) Riley. She graduated from Hackley School of Nursing. She married Thomas W. Schrumpf June 15, 1951. Mrs. Schrumpf was employed as a registered nurse at Dr. Robinson's office in Hart and later at Hart Hospital. Margaret stayed home with her children as they were growing up. She then went back to work in the obstetrics department at Lakeshore Hospital until her retirement. Mrs. Schrumpf lived in the same square mile her entire life. She was a member of Shelby Road Baptist Church and taught Vacation Bible School and Sunday School and was active in Women's Bible Study and the children's nursery for many years. Margaret enjoyed canning, sewing, and helping her husband with the family fruit farm. Thomas preceded her in death in August 1995. She is survived by her children, Don (Sue) Schrumpf of Muskegon, Marilyn (Erin) Edenburn of Hart, Barb (Steve) Fleming of Shelby and Brian (Tonja) Schrumpf of New Era; her brothers, John (Wilma) Riley of Mears, Fred (Fran) Riley of Fremont; her sister, Grace (Earl) Simmons of Chicago; sister-in-law, Carol Riley of Byron Center; sister-in-law, Carmel Schrumpf of Sault Ste Marie; brother-in-law and sister-in-law, McKinley and Ann Schrumpf of Muskegon; 13 grandchildren and five great-grandchildren. She was also preceded in death by her brother, Stanley Riley and brother-in-law, Elwood Schrumpf. Interment was in Mears Cemetery.
