Geraldine (Gerry), age 80, passed away Monday, February 21, 2011 in Tulsa, Oklahoma. She was born April 22, 1930 to Eva (Golding) and Ray Stotts in Hennessey, Ok. She grew up on the family farm with her 4 sisters and 4 brothers. During high school her parents sent her to Oklahoma City to live with her sister and attend school there. She graduated from Classen High School. During her time inOKC she worked at a bank and was introduced to a young soldier who was the son of one of her co-workers. This solider, J.D. Line, and Gerry were married October 7, 1949, in OKC.
Gerry and J.D. were stationed in Shirley, Massachusetts, when their daughter, Judy was born April 17, 1951. gerry made ahome for her family wherever they lived with her compassion and skills as an exellent cook and seamstress. Gerry and J.D. have made Tulsa their home for almost 60 years.
Gerry was a longtime faithful member of Aldersgate United Methodist Church where she served on various committees and as an officer in UMW.
She is survived by her husband, J.D. of the home; daughter, Judy Kennedy of Tulsa; step grandsons, Josh Kennedy of San Diego, California, and Ben Kennedy and wife Anna of Tulsa; granddaughter, Halle Kennedy; a sister, Faye Gilbreath of Waco, TX; two brothers, Carl Stotts of Wichita, KS and Clarence and wife Gerry Stotts of Parson, KS and a hose of friends and relatives.
She was preceded in death by her parents, two brothers, and three sisters.
Services are being held at Aldersgate United Methodist Church under the direction of Stanleys Funeral Home and officated by Pastor Marcia Shoemaker. Interment will follow at Woodlawn Park in Claremore, Ok.
