Mr. Ellsworth was born in Hurley, N. Y. on February 13, 1878, a son of George W. and Elizabeth Ellsworth. He had lived in Rhinebeck most of his life, was a member of the Church of the Messiah here and a life member of Relief Hook and Ladder Co. No. 1 of the Rhinebeck Fire Department.
Surviving are his wife, Mrs. Frieda Bauder Ellsworth of Rhinebeck; two daughters, Mrs. Stanley (Marie) Pollard of Rhinebeck, and Mrs. Gordon (Dorothy) Atkins of Rhinecliff; one sister, Mrs. Esther Bowe of Wassaic; two brothers, Charles and Abel, both of Rhinebeck; six grandchildren and several nieces and nephews.
Funeral services will be conducted at the William E. White Funeral Home in this village at two o'clock on Saturday afternoon by the Rev. Richard A. Cartmell. Interment will be in the Rhinebeck Cemetery.

Note: He was given the middle name Demond after Charles DuMond a friend of the family who served with his Uncle Cornelius in the 120th NY during the Civil War. DuMond also spent time as a POW at Libby Prison with his grandfather, James Ellsworth.
