William Henry (Baldwin) Harrison was the adopted son of James Harrison, Jr (1792 TN-1865TN) and Emily (Smith) Harrison. William's true biological parents may never be known.
Sometime about 1964 one of my older cousins told me the story of how a Harrison family was coming down the road in their wagon and found several (?) orphan children alongside the road. The Harrison's took the children home, adopted them, and gave them the Harrison name. William was one of those orphans. It has been proven by yDNA testing that William was not related to his adopted father, James Harrison,Jr (1792TN-1865 Sumner Co, TN).
The 4G GF of William was one of three Baldwin brothers(Thos, Francis, or John) that immigrated to Chester Co, PA in 1682 from Hook Norton, Oxfordshire, Eng.
William was born Sep 1842, it is thought, in Sumner Co, TN. He appears first of record on the 1850 census, age 8, and living with his adopted Harrison family, In 1860 he is still living with his adopted Harrison parents in Sumner Co, TN.
The 1910 census for Lamb, Scott Co, AR shows that Wm Henry was in the CSA Army (see pg 4 of 7, col 30, line 98). I could not find where he had enlisted in Sumner Co, TN. It is possible that he had already moved to Arkansas before the start of the war, and that he possibly enlisted somewhere in Arkansas.
It is only known that sometime between 1861 and 1868 William migrated to Arkansas. In 1868 William and Susan Angeline Bloodworth were wed near Waldron, Scott Co, AR. They remained in Arkansas for the next 44 years until moving to southeast Oklahoma in 1913. First to Muse, Le Flore Co, OK and then to Albion, Pushmataha Co, OK.
William and Susan moved from Arkansas to southeast Oklahoma with their youngest son, John Columbus Harrison, and John Columbus' family - wife, Lillie Mae Boggs, and children James Elmer, Viola (Tee), Goldie, and Vern. William's dau-in-law, Lillie Mae, is also buried in Kiamichi Pioneer Cemetery.
On the afternoon of 28 Jun 1916 William was out plowing in the field with his two mules. A rain cloud came up. As he was walking back to the house, he was struck and killed by lightnening - also killed his two mules.
I am the great grandson of William Henry(Baldwin)Harrison. I am sorry I never had the chance to meet him.

DNA Testing
yDNA testing by two of Wm's g grandsons prove his Baldwin ancestry He was haplogroup I2b1 (I-M223)
